Jack Nicklaus' U.S. Open victory in 1962 was a first on many levels: His first major win, his first professional win and his first win over Arnold Palmer. |

It took Jack just four years to win his first career Grand Slam, which consisted of: 1962 U.S. Open, 1963 Masters, 1963 PGA Championship and the 1966 British Open. In his career, Nicklaus achieved three total career Grand Slams. |

As an amateur, Nicklaus won five consecutive Ohio State Junior titles, starting at age 12 -- just two years after taking up the game of golf. |

Mirroring his early years, Nicklaus won in his first start on the Champions Tour -- also a major -- The Tradition in 1990. |

Nicklaus won 73 times on TOUR -- including his 18 majors -- and then 10 times on the Champions Tour before he bid farewell to professional golf in 2005. His last tournament was the British Open at St. Andrews, and he was 65 years old. |
